This Microsoft Project PROJECT BASICS exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to assess their suitability for the Wise Owl MICROSOFT PROJECT course only, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Exercise: Build a Wall - Fixed Work

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-290.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Open the file Build a Wall.mpp, which has two Fixed Work and one Fixed Duration task:

3) Create the following resource:

4) Notice how the work hours are calculated as you make the following assignments:
  • Brickie (100%) => Mix mortar
  • Brickie (100%) => Prepare ground
5) Assign a single Brickie (100%) to the Build task and notice that Project automatically calculates how many Brickies are needed:

6) Close the file without saving the changes.
