Exercise: Applying styles to cartoon characters

A full answer to this exercise is provided as part of the training course!

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-608.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Use styles (suggestions are listed below) to apply formatting to the workbook in the above folder, so that it looks similar to this:
Exercise screen-shot 1151 We have also deleted the total in cell B7
3) Here are some styles you could set up (but feel free to use your own names/ideas):
  • Title - then apply this to the titles in row 1 to make them bold and have a green background
  • CartoonCharacter - then apply this to the names in column A to make them italic with a yellow background
  • PlainNumbers - then apply this to the numbers in column B
  • Money - then apply this to the currency amounts in columns C and D to make them have a £" sign and no decimal places
  • MoneyTotal - then apply this to the totals for columns C and D to put lines above/below them
4) Save your workbook with the same name, then close it down.

Thank you for showing an interest in this Excel Business Modelling training course! As mentioned above, full answers to this and other exercises are provided on the course. On all Wise Owl scheduled courses delegates can take away these model answers (together with their own efforts!) on a free USB stick.
