This Microsoft Office TEMPLATES exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to assess their suitability for the Wise Owl ADVANCED WORD course only, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Exercise: Templates - creating a template with headers and footers

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-772.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Open the file called:        Wise Owl Story Time with Headers and Footers.doc
3) Select all the text in the document and delete it - this will not delete the headers and footers.
4) Use the Organizer to copy over the 3 new heading styles from your Data Protection Act with New styles.doc document so that they are available in files created using this template.
5) Save the document as a Document Template with the name:        Wise Owl Story Time Template         and close the template so that you do not accidentally make any changes to it.
6) Create a new document based on the Wise Owl Story Time Template.
7) Test out the template by typing in some headings and applying the 3 heading styles you created.  Your document might look something like this:

8) Print it out and close it without saving any changes.
