This Microsoft Office PARAGRAPH STYLES exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to assess their suitability for the Wise Owl ADVANCED WORD course only, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Exercise: Styles - Modifying paragraph styles

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-769.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Open the file called:        Health and Safety Regulations.doc
3) Apply the following standard styles to the headings:
  • Heading 1 to line number 1
  • Heading 2  to line number 2 and 3
  • Heading 3  to line number 13, and all the other subtitles in the document.
4) You document should now look like the example below:
Exercise screen-shot 1575 Your document will not have line numbering.
5) Modify the following styles - do NOT add the changes to the template.  We only want the changes to apply to this document:
  • Heading 1 - change the font colour to red and add centring
  • Heading 2  - remove the bold and italic and add centring
  • Heading 3 - change the font to Harrington size 16 and blue
6) Check that all your headings have updated to the modified styles.
7) Save the document with the new name:    Health and  Regulations using Modified styles
8) Close the document.
