Exercise: Calculating bi-monthly summary in 3 ways

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-675.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Open the workbook in the folder above, and add the following line and range name to the calculations sheet:

3) Create formulae to calculate the cash carried forward at the end of each month shown in one of 3 ways:

4) Here are some notes to help you:
  • For the OFFSET function, you want to go 0 rows down and MonthNumber columns across from $E$16
  • For the INDIRECT function, use the formula: =INDIRECT(ADDRESS(ROW(CashCf),5+MonthNumber))
  • For the INDEX function, return the value of the cell in the first row and MonthNumber column in the CashCf range
5) Save this workbook with the same name and close it down.
