Exercise: Drawdown fee exceeded - match/index

A full answer to this exercise is provided as part of the training course!

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-674.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Open the file in the above folder - it contains a model for the London Olympics.
3) Create a new input for entering the government's maximum drawdown amount - this might look something like this:
Exercise screen-shot 1316 This shows that the maximum overdraft the government can incur is £380 million
4) On your Calculations sheet, enter 3 new lines:
Exercise screen-shot 1317 For this example, the last year before which the limit is exceeded is the 3rd one
Training exercise hint The period when the government hits its drawdown fee limit should be returned by a MATCH function; use the INDEX function to return the year in which this occurs.
5) Save this workbook with the same name, then close it down.

Thank you for showing an interest in this Excel Business Modelling training course! As mentioned above, full answers to this and other exercises are provided on the course. On all Wise Owl scheduled courses delegates can take away these model answers (together with their own efforts!) on a free USB stick.
