This Microsoft Excel 2007 VALIDATION AND PROTECTION exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to assess their suitability for the Wise Owl EXCEL 2007 BUSINESS MODELLING course only, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Exercise: Monthly report - Validation

A full answer to this exercise is provided as part of the training course!

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-1039.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Create a new worksheet with a list of possible month choices.  Give the block of cells a range name.

3) Apply validation to cell B2 so that when you click on the cell you see and input message telling you what you can do:

4) Extend the validation so that when a user chooses a month that doesn't exist, they see this message:

5) Save the file with the same name, and then close it down.
