This Microsoft Excel 2007 RANGE NAMES AND ABSOLUTE REFERENCES exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to assess their suitability for the Wise Owl ADVANCED EXCEL 2007 course only, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Exercise: Bob the Builder - Range Names

A full answer to this exercise is provided as part of the training course!

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-814.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Create the following range names:
  • Hours - referring to D6:D16
  • Total - referring to E6:E16
  • Rate - referring to G6
3) Use the range names you have created to calculate the cost for each item, and then the total bill at the bottom of the list.

4) Save the file with the same name and close it down.
