This Microsoft Developer THEMES AND SKINS exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to assess their suitability for the Wise Owl ASP.NET 2.0 USING C# course only, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Exercise: Competition form - themes and skins

A full answer to this exercise is provided as part of the training course!

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-1050.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Open the form called frmCompetition.aspx - it should look like this:

3) Create a theme within your web site called Competition, and apply it to your page.
4) Within this theme, create a skin file containing two skins:
  • A skin to make ALL buttons appear in a different colour
  • A skin called JazzyTextBox which you can apply to selected text boxes to make them coloured
5) Apply your JazzyTextBox skin to the name and newspaper text boxes - your final form should look this this:

6) Save any open files and close them down.
