This Microsoft Access 2007 THE VBA CODE EDITOR exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to assess their suitability for the Wise Owl ACCESS 2007 VISUAL BASIC course only, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Exercise: Opening and closing table with message box between

A full answer to this exercise is provided as part of the training course!

1) Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-950.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it).
2) Create a new module in your database, called modSimpleMacros.
3) Within this module, create a procedure called ShowSpielbergFilms which:
  • Opens the qryFilmsByStevenSpielberg query containing films by the man himself;
  • Displays the message shown below; then
  • Closes the table back down again.
Training exercise hint To work out how to open a query, type DoCmd. in hopefully and see what comes up!
4) Here is the message that your macro should display:
Exercise screen-shot 2246 The message will appaer on top of the query listing Spielberg films
5) Save and close this module.
