Rule 3: Use Plenty of Diagrams
A picture, it is said, is worth a thousand words, but this understates the truth. Consider this diagram (as it happens it is of the drawing tools in Microsoft Visio 2003), and imagine how long would it have taken to explain these tools in words alone:
