Advanced Reporting Services training course (2 days)

Mastered the basics of SQL Server Reporting Services or Report Builder? Maybe now is the time to stretch your wings, and learn just how powerful this report writing application can be. Our two-day advanced SSRS course covers three main topics:

  • Incorporating code within your reports (whether by accessing existing Microsoft functions or by creating your own using Visual Basic);
  • Working with parameters in their many guises, particularly to create drill-through reports; and
  • Using stored procedures as a source of data for reports, and the possibilities this creates.

The course will use Visual Studio 2010 (SQL Server 2012 Data Tools) for developing reports and Reporting Services version 2012, but these are virtually identical to BIDS and SSRS 2008 R2.

The ideal preparation for this course is to attend either our two-day Reporting Services course or our two-day Report Builder course. We will accept other delegates, but you must have a good understanding of how to create reports in SSRS. You will get more out of this course if you have done some Visual Basic or VBA programming before. There will be a maximum of 6 people on each course, and each person will have their own computer.
