You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our blogs. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Changes for the June 2017 update for Power BI Desktop

There are more (and better) changes than usual for this update (which actually came out after the middle of the month).  Here are the ones which we think will interest people who attend our courses:

New feature Notes
Data bars You can now overlay data bars on top of table or matrix values, although only using the new preview visuals.
Markers You can add markers to line charts - they look good too!
Accessibility You can add alternative text to many parts of a visualisation, to help people with screen readers.
Maps Bing is about to undergo an update, which will allow you to choose from 4 themes (rather than the current 2 enabled for this update).
Query by example You can use many more transforms, and Query Editor will also suggest ideas to you.
Image slicers You can now create horizontal image slicers, as well as vertical ones.
Font family You can change the typeface of many parts of a visual.
Combination charts You can align zeros on the two chart axes, and also turn the line chart component into an area one.
