ASP.NET by version

The latest version of ASP.NET is 4.0  All of our scheduled ASP.NET training courses run in this latest version (for onsite training in ASP.NET you can choose whatever version you want).

Here is a brief guide to the different versions of ASP.NET:

Version

Year

Notes

ASP.NET 2.0 2005 The version which introduced all of the big changes: master pages, themes, sitemaps, gridviews, datasource controls …
ASP.NET 3.0 2006 We're not convinced that this version actually exists!  There was a version 3.0 of the .NET framework, introducing grand concepts like the Window Presentation Foundation (WPF), but no corresponding new version of ASP.NET that we can find.
ASP.NET 3.5 2007 This version introduced the ListView and DataPager controls, LINQ support and AJAX support
ASP.NET 4.0 2010 The main benefits from the latest version of ASP.NET are on the client side, including fixed ids for document elements and better JavaScript autocompletion

If you want to book one of the Wise Owl scheduled ASP.NET courses, but would prefer to use a different version of ASP.NET, please let us know and we'll see if we can accommodate you.
